The Antelope Flats acquisition was one of the most important acquisitions in the park’s history and was made possible through the successful completion of an eight-month fundraising campaign by the Grand Teton National Park Foundation and their amazing board of directors and resource council as well as the National Park Foundation.

On December 12, 2016, the National Park Service purchased 640 acres within Grand Teton National Park from the State of Wyoming. Having raised $23 million in private funds, they were matched by $23 million from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. Antelope Flats now protects critical wildlife habitat and migration routes, prevents private development, and maintains spectacular viewsheds.
