Hours later, Steel and Tor sleep soundly in my oversized bed. I shift, silent as smoke, rising to my knees where I’m sandwiched between them.

My heart expands as my mind wanders to simple times with them, bantering with Tor or discussing future hopes with Steel. It’s more than a bond, more than a friendship, and I realize with absolutely certainty…
