Then, when you absolutely need this help, make sure to bring an offering that would be pleasing to the spirits (tobacco, water, sweets, flowers, etc.). Make sure that everything you leave is biodegradable and nontoxic to animals. Spirits wouldn't appreciate plastic, Styrofoam, or items that don't break down quickly or end up choking our water system. The same should go for your actual spell materials. If you are writing down your spells, be sure to use natural paper that will break down easily.

As you work with the spirit for their assistance, be sure to continue to feed their grave regularly. When the spell has come to manifest, it's important to remind the spirit that their work is done and they can now return to resting. That may involve visiting their grave and inviting them to return, even singing them back to sleep so that they will not become lost or confused.
