Chapter 7

“Well,” said Max. “It's smaller, but it'll do.”

After a night of particularly bad dreams, perhaps caused by all that identity stress, he had woken screaming again – and the prognosis was that it would be best to move him to a soundproofed room of his own to prevent Lenny's sleep from being disturbed. He could see the logic of this, but at the same time it didn't make him feel much better. He'd miss Lenny's company, and he wasn't exactly looking forward to being alone in Max's presence anymore.
