Linux
Linux is an open-source operating system that is not as common as Windows or Mac. However, it is gaining popularity nowadays because of its fuss-free interface and open-source concept. Although mutually founded on UNIX, it is actually far more difficult to alter passwords in OS X than in Linux.
Start the PC and push down on the the ESC key when GRUB is displayed on the screen.
Highlight the mode for recovery and push down the “B” key. (This will initiate the mode for single users).
You will be registered as ‘root’ initially at the Linux prompt. You just have to key in ‘passwd’ which is the default password and enter a new PIN of your choice. This action will in effect change the password for the user ‘root’, to whatsoever you have typed in.
Should you be interested only in hacking a specific account on the Linux system, then you just need to enter ‘passwd username’. Username should be the log in handle for the Linux account you wish to gain access to.
