CHAPTER 15
Lyric cradled her abdomen, while the realisation of what she had to do was upon her, getting her head around this news was going to take some time.
Time she didnât have.
Eight weeks pregnant.
And it was Gunnerâs bun in her oven. She was carrying the second child of the next generation of BAMC kids.
Lyric couldnât believe the situation she was in. Sheâd left Australia to get away from overbearing club members, and yet here she was up the duff with the VPâs baby and all it took was one root!
What the fuck!
She was scared of Gunnerâs reaction but felt weirdly excited to be part of this new family sheâd grown to love and still unsure of her own familyâs reaction. God! She was all over the place.
She was going to have to tell the VP. Her clothes were tighter, she would be showing sooner rather than later. Plus, she didnât want to keep it a secret, it would be a really shitty thing to do. She needed a moment to calm herself before the confrontation.
She walked down the main street of Bryson City and took in the small-town feel. It was a cute town. Where sheâd grown up in Maitland, part of the Lower Hunter Valley in New South Wales, was a bustling town but now she was away from it all, she found that she preferred the quiet small-town vibe that North Carolina was giving off.
âWell, well, well,â a voice growled from behind her. âIf it isnât the Alchemy fairy.â She gagged and froze in place. Panic rose in her chest. She didnât recognise the voice. He had called her fairy. Her legs started to shake. She spun around stupidly and found her head kept spinning once she faced them.
The two grotty men wore cuts she didnât recognise and she couldnât place their features. Lyric knew they were no guys from Black Alchemy and she wondered if they were part of the Dark Angels or if Reaper had some associates in the US. Was he getting them to follow her?
Oh god!
If he was having her followed, he knew exactly where sheâd just been and then she would be in even more danger. Lyric tried to swallow her terror, she couldnât afford to lose her shit here. She not only had herself to look out for, but now there was a little bean in her belly.
A loud rumble of a bike pulled her attention for a moment and she almost cried with relief when Gunner pulled up beside her. The huge man stepped off his bike, his arms crossed in front of his massive chest, tattoos bright against his skin.
She had never been so happy to see him.
âYou okay here Doll?â he asked, his baritone voice comforting her in an instant.
Lyric managed a nod, but she sensed he knew she wasnât. He returned a small smile to her and winked in assurance. Her heart leapt. Sheâd never really seen him smile. Yep, she liked how it felt.
âYou Jokers might want to get outta here.
