Caution!

If someone stricken by reactive hypoglycemia does not get adequate treatment with a change in diet, it is generally not out of unwillingness but out of ignorance. It is not widely known that mood disorders can be caused by insufficient sugar. Most often the problem is attributed to all sorts of other causes—anything but reactive hypoglycemia.

Dependency

The term dependency is customarily used for hard drugs (heroin, cocaine) or milder substances (alcohol, tobacco). However, a dependency on refined sugar is also possible. This comparison between refined sugar and drugs might seem a little daring because refined sugar is not a drug per se. However, the process of habituation and dependency are similar. Before showing how dependency on refined sugar gets established, let’s take a general look at the process that creates addiction. I will use the example of alcohol as an illustration.
