The black Ducati loudly, but gracefully, rumbles through the narrow tree lined road past a golf resort and into the mansion dotted hills on the way toward the dam. Each time a curve in the road is completed the green Ninja can briefly be seen before Amber starts the next curve. Finally the road straightens out for a mile. The Ninja closes the gap with Amber. Meanwhile, Jack is pulling to the side of the road a few miles behind and taking up position. Jack, standing outside his car, hits the button for Amber.

“Where are you Jack?” Amber tensely says.

Jack hears the edge in her voice, “In place, what’s wrong?”

“I, hold on.”

Jack hears the sound of squealing tires and hard engine revs on his phone.

Amber yells, ”I just made a power U turn and he’s doing one now.”

“That answers our question.”

“Shit! He’s shooting Jack!”

Jack puts his phone earpiece in and says, “Say that again.”

“He fired twice Jack! I’m swerving to limit his shot angle so not moving as fast as could. Still should be near you in a couple minutes!”

“Roger that, I’ll be ready.”

Jack quickly moves to the trunk, opens the compartment, and takes out an HK 416, and then attaches a scope, and tripod to the assault rifle. Next he removes a blanket, puts it on the roof of the Boss, then sets the rifle on it. He then folds the blanket over to conceal the gun.

Jack taps his earpiece, “How you doing?”

“Still weaving.”

“Listen to me Amber. I’m not going to just scare this guy away. I’m going to kill him. Are you certain he shot at you?”

“Hell yes! He still is! Shoot him Jack!”

Jack looks the other way for oncoming traffic but sees no cars. He removes the blanket from the gun, gets in a comfortable position leaning against the side of the Boss and aims the rifle at the roadway emerging from a curve. Within seconds Jack can see Amber in the scope and right behind her is the Ninja. Jack can see the pistol in the hand of the Ninja rider. But then the incline of the road places the Ninja low behind Amber.

Jack touches his earpiece and says, “Amber, do exactly as I say. When I say drop I want you to lay flat on your bike. Do you understand?”

“Affirmative,” Amber barks out.

Jack takes aim, the scope cross-hairs are on Amber’s helmet.

Jack calmly says, “Drop.”

Amber’s legs swing up behind her and she lays flat on the seat blindly driving straight ahead. The Ninja driver is visible in the scope. Jack squeezes the trigger and the Ninja driver flips off his bike as if he ran into a trip wire across the road.

Jack calmly says, ”Get up Amber.”

In a flash Amber has her legs back in position, looks back just in time to see the Ninja bike slide off the road and over the cliff.

Amber excitedly yells, “Where did you learn to do that?”

As he is taking the tripod off the gun, Jack says, “Well, turns out the FBI quickly figured out I was a much better shooter than accountant.
