“What the fuck is happening?” Scotty demanded, pulling his gun.

“They’re advancing,” an officer called out.

Raising his Glock, Scotty swallowed thickly, his eyes trained on the oncoming cluster.

“STOP!” Another officer yelled at the group.

It happened within seconds. One moment Scotty was pulling up to offer assistance on a riot, the next, the mob had tackled an officer.

Slowly creeping forward, a group of twenty men and women stumbled in lingering jerky movements. Sluggishly crossing over the asphalt, their murmuring moans and grumbles echoed against the officers.

He couldn’t believe it.

Their faces held snarls and cracking jaw. Some were covered in blood. One had a knife sticking out of his shoulder. Another had a missing eye.

What the fuck am I looking at?!

“I Said STOP!” The officer boomed from him left.

The dozen police men lined the road in single file, their weapons drawn and aimed at the crowd.

It was obvious that there was no reasoning with them.

In an instant, a single male broke free of the pack and began running full speed towards the line of officers. He was fast, covering the distance in seconds.

Bracing for the impact, Scotty took aim and fired.
