The first r shown here is the same as throughout this book and given for comparison.
The second has a flag that runs flat under the waistline.
The third r has a flag with a slight wave in its shape.
Avoid making an r with a “wilted” flag.
Simple Roman Caps
Majuscule letters (capital letters or caps) are where the greatest liberties have been permitted historically, and so several historic forms are included in this book. Many calligraphers prefer to use simple Roman caps instead of the purely italic. Which form you use is a matter of personal choice.
