Chapter 3

How Satan Uses Your Fear in the Courts of Heaven

For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes.

— Job 3:25-26

Heaven has a very robust judicial system. Heaven houses many powerful courts of justice. Why? Because the Kingdom of Heaven is a sovereign government just like the United States or China. As a sovereign nation, the most powerful of them all, the Kingdom of Heaven has to have a Department of Justice. Moses tapped into this dimension of the Kingdom in order to bring the Ten Commandments as a system of law and jurisprudence into the earth realm. Have you noticed that all the law-abiding nations on earth have one version or another of the Ten Commandments? It is no wonder Moses is called the law-giver!

The Courts of Heaven

Before the Lord brought me into an understanding on the revelation of operating in the Courts of Heaven, the following passage from the book of Job was a very difficult passage of Scripture for me to handle. The Bible is very clear that lucifer (satan) and the angels that fell with him were cast out of Heaven. They fell into the earth realm like lightening! This is what Jesus said in the New Testament. So what in God’s name was satan doing in Heaven? Why is he standing before the Lord? For the most part, I ignored the obvious theological quagmire hidden in the passage. I just believed it by faith, even though the theologian in me remained unsettled.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord (Job 1:6-12).

After years of intensive study of the Bible and after meeting my dear friend Robert Henderson, the light bulb of revelation suddenly flooded my soul! This passage of Scripture from the book of Job no longer posed a theological dilemma.
