“I guess you didn’t die.” I heard someone whispering in my ear as I laid still in my hospital bed. The last thing I remembered is getting a fax and running out the door to save my mother.

“Don’t worry. I’m gonna make sure the next time you don’t make it.” I opened my eyes and there stood a man wearing a black mask. How the hell did he get in here looking like that?

“Who are you?”

“You’ll know soon enough.” I reached down for the nurse’s button and pressed it over and over.

“I unplugged it.” The person stared at me for a few seconds and before I could react his hands were rubbing on my breasts. I went to scream, and he placed his dirty hand on my mouth.

“In due time I’m gonna have you.”

“Why are you doing this?” He had the nerve to kiss my neck.

“It’s time you pay for the sins of others.” He stuck his tongue in my ear. I tried to move my face, but he held it in place.

“Please stop.” Tears were streaming down my face, thinking I’m about to be raped.

“CODE BLUE!” Someone shouted on the intercom.

“Nowhere is safe from me. I will come back for you.” The message on the intercom must’ve scared him because he disappeared and all I could do is cry.

Remi has been to here for the past two days taking care of me and the one time I send him away to get food, this happens. I had to basically beg him to go. He refused to leave me alone and wouldn’t tell me why. I wanted him to get fresh air but I see why he didn’t want to.

“You better eat this whole cheesesteak since I had to stand in a long ass line.” Remi said coming in the room with a bag and two drinks. He switched the lights on and stopped.

“This is exactly why I didn’t wanna leave. Fuck! You ok? Did they hurt you?” He dropped the food and drinks on the table and rushed to me. I explained to him the best I could about what happened.

“I’m gonna ask you this once.” I nodded.

“Did he touch you?” I shook my head yes.

“Did you see his face?” I shook my head no and hugged him tight.

“Please take me home.” I was hysterical crying by now. My body was shaking, hands trembling, and the tears wouldn’t stop. He walked out and returned with the doctor.

“Ms. Carter we would like for you to stay a few more nights...” Remi cut the doctor off.

“Fuck that! My girl was attacked while your fat ass nurses sat there eating and running they mouth. I should knock the shit outta them. They know no one is supposed to enter this room.” I grabbed Remi’s hand because he was mad and ready to hit the doctor.

“Remi please relax.” I squeezed his hand as tight as I could.

“I apologize Ms. Carter. I didn’t know anything transpired in here.”

“It’s ok. Can you please discharge me?” I guess he felt bad because he finally agreed and left to do what I asked.
