ActiveX Controls, Form Controls and Inserted Objects

For purposes of this Chapter, you can distinguish between:

• Controls; and

• Other Excel objects you can insert in a worksheet.

You can further sub-divide Controls in:

• ActiveX Controls; and

• Form Controls.

The Excel objects you can insert in a worksheet include several tools and features. These include, among others:

• Shapes;

• Text Boxes;

• WordArt;

• SmartArt;

• Pictures; and

• Charts.

Strictly speaking, Controls are also objects. However, they have some specific characteristics.
