The sound of flesh tearing and the sight of blood pouring out always gave me an adrenaline rush. Staring down at these dead people who shot my sister with something, gave me a sense of peace being they wonât be able to hurt her again. Unfortunately; theyâre more out there like them.
I glanced around the parking lot and people were watching and recording on their phones. I flicked my wrist and watched as everyone stood there frozen.
I summoned the clean-up vampire people to come dispose of these bodies and told Niles and Kat to get over to Evaâs. They refused to leave me and I appreciated it but I needed them there to let my mother know who Deray is because right now, sheâs cursing him out and asking tons of questions. My grandparents are on their way and wouldâve been there first but Evaâs kids are at their house.
After the street was cleaned up, I took the spell off and made sure all the memories were erased. However; one woman stood out because she started coming towards me. I used my shirt to wipe the remaining blood off my face and tossed it in my car. I wasnât worried about her seeing it because Iâd erase her memory too. When we were face to face, she smiled.
âYou cleaned up pretty fast.â She glanced around the parking lot.
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
âBesides the blood being a dead giveaway that a murder of some kind possibly happened, I saw the entire thing.â I wasnât admitting to anything.
âCan you elaborate because I still have no clue what youâre talking about.â I folded my arms and listened to her tell me how we ripped those people to shreds and disposed of them.
âWho are you again?â
âIâm Zurie and I came here looking for my cousin Deray. He mentioned something about a war and if I wanted in.â
âAnd do you?â
âAbsolutely. These same types of people killed my parents.â
âHow were you able to witness anything that happened here?â
âDeray taught me a while ago how to get past the mind compulsion thing. It really is stupid for vampires to use on others but I could see how itâs necessary at times.â She shrugged and asked if Deray were inside.
I told her no but she could call him and go from there. I donât know this chick and anyone can say theyâre related. Sheâs definitely a vampire but again, it donât mean shit to me. Unless her cousin introduces us, sheâs still a vampire off the street in my eyes.
After she left and I made sure all the memories were erased, I raced to my sisterâs house to find everyone there; including Katâs sister. They were outside talking but the fact sheâs even here is weird because Megan and Eva donât speak. Thereâs no animosity between them anymore and theyâre never around one another.
I gave them the head nod, went in and closed the door. I sent a message in my head to Kat telling her not to even think about letting her sister in.
