The Fourth Confucian Classic is the Ritual, a collection of philosophy and rules for everyday living-etiquette.

The Fifth Confucian Classic is the Ch’un-ch’iu or Spring and Autumn Annals, a history of the state of Lu, probably written by Confucius in order to teach moral behavior.

The Sixth Confucian Classic is the Music, which was presumably a text on music, although we do not know for sure.

The Confucian Classics describe a moral world, but it is also a religious world, ruled on high by the God Shang Ti and lesser Gods such as the moon and stars, the sun, wind, rain, mountains, and rivers. Also in Heaven dwell the ancestors, to whom their heirs sacrifice in order to gain their blessings. In fact, Heaven itself is like Shang Ti, an intelligent power, guiding the destinies of men. And the Will of Heaven was very important to the ancients, and thus to Confucius.
