Chapter 7

Colin was in heaven. He’d had no idea that heaven was a seaside cottage on the northern coast of Ireland in mid-December, but he wasn’t about to complain. As it turned out, Shannon had her small cottage stocked with more than just brewing ingredients and equipment. The pantry had everything they’d needed to make a simple supper for themselves that night—after finishing with the two batches of beer and securing them to ferment for a few weeks. He’d felt downright domestic as he and Shannon cooked together, ate together, and then retired to her lovely bedroom upstairs for the night—where he had a chance to show her that he hadn’t just been bragging when he’d told her how exquisite he was at pleasing a woman in bed. And just as he’d imagined, Shannon was as fiery between the sheets as she was when she lost her temper.

“This is exactly the sort of life I want to live,” he commented the next morning as the two of them lay in bed after a satisfying night of sleep.

“This?” Shannon lifted herself from where she’d been dozing across his chest, her head on his shoulder. The gesture had her thick, ginger hair spilling across her creamy shoulders. There was just enough light coming in through the windows that faced the sea to illuminate her gorgeous, shapely body as the covers slipped down her back.

“Absolutely this,” Colin purred, pushing the covers down farther so that he could drink in the sight of her body with a wicked grin.

Shannon laughed, then pulled back and sat up, letting the covers spill completely to the bed. Colin sucked in a breath at the full sight of her nakedness as she knelt between his knees. He also got a thrill at the way she raked his naked body with a lascivious look. He loved how Shannon could go from proper lady to determined businesswoman to sultry siren in the space of just a day. He might have preened a little under her gaze as well, resting his forearms on the pillow above his head and spreading himself out for her pleasure. He couldn’t keep the impish grin off his face as he did, especially since he was already getting hard, and Shannon seemed to appreciate it.

“I see you grinning at me like the young fool you are,” Shannon told him, one eyebrow raised teasingly. “You’re quite proud of yourself for this virile young body of yours, aren’t you?”

“Excessively proud,” Colin sighed.

His breath hitched as Shannon leaned forward to rake her hands over his chest and sides. She hummed in appreciation as she brushed over him with feather-light strokes, pinching his nipples and making him suck in a breath. That also made him grow harder, which he loved. She had him aching and twitching as she brushed her fingertips down over his hips and along his inner thighs, and he grew so hard that his cock stood up against his belly, begging for more.

“Are you going to let me get away with stroking you like this, my lord?” she asked with a teasing lift of one eyebrow.
