1925: “Millions Now Living Will Never Die!”

2025: “Check out our giant new media production facility! It took six years to build and cost literally hundred of millions of dollars and uncountable volunteer man hours but sure, Armageddon is right round the corner, any day now! In the meantime, watch our new music video!”

How long are you otherwise intelligent men and women going to fall for this obvious grift? You’ve put in a lot of time, most of your lives in fact, and it’s hard to admit you’ve been lied to and misled, but are you so lacking in moral courage, so unable to act ethically, that you cannot stand up for yourselves and live your remaining years of life free of this shameful tyranny over your minds and hearts and the health of your families?

When I was an active JW (pre-21st century, recall!) we didn’t even know the names of the Governing Body, let alone their faces and their voices. They were seven humble, wise, compassionate men in service to God, toiling away on deep matters of faith, somewhere in the bowels of Bethel. Now they’re the actual faithful and discreet slave of prophecy? Handy! Wearing pinky rings and Rolex watches on a fancy studio set while literally talking down to you and regularly asking for money? Cartoons for the kiddies? Music videos? Come on. Over twenty years ago, I left on doctrinal issues, but even had I been absolutely 100% doubt-free about the core teachings, this televangelism garbage would have put me right off and frankly, I’m surprised it hasn’t left a bad taste in your mouth. But then, maybe that’s what spiritual food tastes like for you, now; you’re eating shit but they tell you it’s steak and you say “mmm more please”. And don’t give me the old “Jehovah lets us avail ourselves of the needed technology to spread the word”, that’s a giant lie they recycle every few years, along with their updated “understanding” of prophecy. But, again, maybe you like the feel of it in your mouth, maybe choking down the lies helps you push your cowardice deeper inside where you don’t have to see it and deal with how you’ve lived your lives.

I see you still, Ray. My father. You would rather consider your first-born son dead to you than face the reality of your failure, you would rather miss out completely on the lives of your amazing grandchildren than face your inadequacy as a parent and a man. Rick, who I always felt was the smartest of the bunch, I see you. I see what you’ve chosen, I understand your thinking, and I see you for what you are, a line manager for the bosses. You, Ray, Rob, your illiterate father Reginald, all line managers for your criminal masters: murderers, child abusers, destroyers of families, breakers of men and women too naive to know what is being done to their minds and hearts.
