His mate, his queen.

Drake hadn't even claimed her body yet, and she was already asking for his fire. It took all he had not to pour them forth into her gentle mouth touches.

He could hardly believe when she'd shed her outer skin to reveal a woman's fully grown body beneath. He'd prepared himself and his dragon to wait a hundred years for his mate to mature. These star dragons were a curious thing to be born one minute and without even growing larger become an adult the next. He could hardly wait to see what her hunting form would be like.

But first he would revel in her mating form.

The fates must have smiled down on him today to send a dying dragon from the stars to bring him a true mate. He truly never thought he could ever feel this way about any other being, but having Ha Lee in his arms, his heartlight aflame, touching as mates, was more than he'd ever imagined.

Her lips rubbed over his and she pushed her tongue into his mouth, hungry for his fire. She made him hotter than any fantasy he'd ever had about mating. He may have never mated with a woman before, but his body knew exactly what to do.

Carefully he brought a spark of his flame up from his heart and let Ha Lee have her taste. She groaned as the fire touched her lips and her legs gave out. He picked her up, wrapping her legs around his waist and took her to his furs at the back of the cave. His dragon writhed and pushed at him to take her, claim her here and now. He would not be a total beast. She should have somewhere soft to lie for their coupling. Her pleasure was all that mattered.

He laid her gently in the plush furs and marveled at the way her hair splayed across them. Her rich scent would be forever enmeshed in every fiber of his bed.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and one of her legs around the back of his, pulling him down to her. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want you. I need you to make love to me."

The meaning of her words were right on the edge of his consciousness. He didn't need to understand her language to know what she wanted from him. The scent of her arousal was thick in the air and her lush, ripe body called to him. He would give her pleasure, give her his fires, give her his seed.

Drake touched lips with her again and brought up more of his fire. Her tongue darted in and out of his mouth, taking every spark and flame he gave to her. His fire would prepare her body to take his seed and carry his child. Without it, she would burn and die. Only a true mate, marked and claimed, could take a dragon's fire and bear his children.

"Oh God, Drake, more. I don't know what's in your kiss, but I need more of it.
