Date Night

Sophie

Jase found any opportunity he could to touch me.

Even if it was just a touch of his hand when we ran into each other in the break room or a quick caress of my ass when no one else was looking.

I didn’t stop him as he pushed me against the door to my office and kissed me until I couldn’t catch my breath.

And he sure as hell didn’t stop me when I found him tucked away in his office with his brow scrunched in frustration and I dropped to my knees. I left his office with the taste of him on my tongue and thoughts of the way he cried out my name as he came in my mouth flooding my brain.

I hadn’t been able to think about anything other than touching him.

It was Saturday afternoon, I was lying in bed watching Netflix like I had been doing all day, and all I could think about was getting back to work on Monday, so I could see him.

It was pathetic.

My phone dinged next to me, and I expected it to be Kennedy who had been texting me all morning about the wedding. She and my brother would be in town on Friday then their wedding was only a week after that.

I couldn’t wait to see them.

I searched through the blankets to find my phone and almost dropped it on my face when I saw Jase’s name light up the screen.

Jase: Dinner?

Dinner. We didn’t do dinner. Hell, we didn’t do anything outside of the office.

Me: I didn’t think we were the dinner kind of people.

There, that was simple and to the point.

Jase: As in the kind of people who eat?

I typed out a response then deleted it. Then I typed again.

Me: As in the kind of people who eat together.

I smiled down at my phone and watched those three little dots bounce over and over.

Jase: I can eat your pussy, but I’m not good enough to eat dinner with?

I almost choked on my spit as I read his words.

Me: I didn’t say that.

God. I was saying that.

Jase: I’ll make you a deal. Come eat dinner with me, and I promise that you won’t be neglected because there’s food.

I snorted and ran my finger over the keyboard. Did I want to have dinner with Jase? Yes. Did I think it was a bad idea? Also, yes.

Me: Where?

Jase: My house. 7 o’clock.

He didn’t wait for another response. He messaged me his address, and I stared at it for a good five minutes before I pulled myself out of bed and jumped in the shower. I scrubbed and shaved every surface of my skin before I threw every item of clothing I owned onto my bed while trying to decide what to wear.

I showed up at his doorstep five minutes after seven. I could blame it on the fact that I didn’t want to seem too eager, but the reality was that I tried on four different outfits and tried to talk myself out of coming at least three times.
