“MMM...OH!” DEE LAPPED up the last bit of the double-decker chocolate cake and threw her fork down. “Jesus.” The heavenly, smooth chocolate slid down her throat. “Ooh.”

Lisa glanced at Jake.

He smiled and bit into another chunk of cake.

“You like it, Dee?” Lisa asked.

“Like?” She pointed to the empty plate. “So that’s the cake?”

“Mmm hmm.” Lisa licked chocolate off her fork. “That’s the cake.”

“Girl.” She fanned. “You didn’t lie. That cake’s so good I almost peed on myself.”

Lisa laughed.

“Whoa.” Jake raised his hand. “That’s too much information, Dee.” He sipped cranberry juice. “But I’m glad you like it.”

“I need the damn recipe.” Dee licked the last bit of frosting off her fork. “I don’t know if I could make it taste half as good but I’ll try.”

“It’s not the recipe that makes the magic.” Lisa held Jake’s hand. “Jake has a special touch in the kitchen.”

He rubbed his nose against her cheek. “I got one in the bedroom too.”

“Jake.” Lisa giggled.

He kissed her.

“Thank you so much for inviting me to dinner you guys.” Dee wiped the corner of her mouth. “Everything was amazing.” She patted her stomach. “I think I gained ten pounds but it’s worth it.”

“We enjoyed having you.” Jake ate the last bit of his cake.

“Since you made such a fantastic dinner...” Lisa stood with her plate. “How about Dee and I take the plates into the kitchen?” She grabbed Jake’s and kissed him. “It’ll give us a moment to have some girl talk too.” Lisa went into the kitchen.

Dee followed with her plate. “That cake was amazing, Leece.”

“That’s the orgasm cake,” Lisa whispered as she laid the plates in the sink. “I think he puts more in it than chocolate.” She winked.

Dee rubbed her stomach. “I don’t know what the hell he put in it but I’ll take thirds, fourths, and fifths.”

Lisa laughed. “I’m glad you came over.” She wiped her hands on the dish towel.

“And I’m not stupid.” Dee peered at her. “How come you invited me over here tonight?”

“You’re my best friend.” Lisa laid the dishtowel on the back of the chair. “Do I need a reason? I also didn’t want you to think I’ve been neglecting you. I know we don’t spend as much time together since Jake came into the picture.”

“I understand.” Dee washed her hands.

“Here.” Lisa passed her a paper towel.

“Thanks.” Dee wiped her hands. “You got a man now so I can’t expect you to spend as much time with me as before.”

“Well I miss spending time with you.” Lisa hugged her. “We see each other every day at work but I feel like we’re distant lately, you know?”

Dee laid the paper towel on the counter. “I’m just glad you’re happy.” She looked toward the living room. “Jake is a great guy. I think you’ve won the jackpot.”

“Me too.” Lisa rubbed her hands together. “He’s amazing. Sometimes I want to pinch myself because I can’t believe he’s really mine.”

“So are you going to move in with him?”

“Still thinking about it.” Lisa chewed her lip.
