CHAPTER 15

NOVA

“I thought you’d be thrilled about going,” Ramsey said, regarding me with concern. Probably because I’d been pacing back and forth, deep in thought about what this meant for us, and more importantly, what we would have to do while there.

Most of my guys were busy packing up our belongings and any extra supplies we needed, but we had decided to leave any valuables—like my seashell collection and our gardens—here, not wanting to risk having to leave them behind anywhere. Luckily, Gray promised someone would come take care of our baby gardens while we were gone, which was a relief in my mind.

I froze. Was I a plant mom now?

Ramsey made a low rumble. “What about being a mom?”

Nour chuckled as I offered Ramsey a dry look, secretly loving that his eyes were lit up with interest.

“Plant mom,” I drew out so he would understand. “I’m super excited about going to Bora Bora. I am, however, worried about what we’ll have to do in order to get to the portal. Gray mentioned a cave, but she also mentioned diving… I mean, it’s off the coast of Bora Bora, so… Yeah, I don’t know, just nervous. I can do a lot, but asking me to purposefully dive into deep ocean water…” I hesitated, not knowing how to finish that sentence without sounding like a total baby.

The concern was not shared by my magic, who was switching between laying out in a bikini with her shades on while sipping on a pina coladas and snorkeling without an ounce of fear. I was beyond jealous, especially because of her bikini—where the heck had she gotten a glitter purple swimsuit, and how did I get one?

“Moonbeam,” Nour said, his face serious. “We will figure out another way. We would never make you do something like that. There are always secondary solutions.”

Were there, though? I wanted to believe that, but considering we had never been there before, we had no idea.

I blew out an exhale. “It’s not a big deal, I’m just being dramatic.”

“You’re not,” Ramsey insisted. “Stop saying that.”

“I’m excited to go,” I repeated, almost as if trying to convince myself. Then I smirked. “But if we need somewhere to stay overnight, then it better be at an overwater bungalow. I’ve had postcards of those for literally years.”

“I made a reservation at a resort for them!” River called out in passing, carrying a heavy bag.

My mouth dropped open, and I spun on my heel to face him. “You did?!”

I could barely contain my excitement. My magic, the little hussy, was now peering seductively at River’s magic from beneath her sunglasses.

He offered me a knowing look. “Yeah, figured it would be a good idea, and it’s close to the location of where we need to sail off the island.”

What a freakin’ planner.

River was gone with his bag before I could form a response.

“Wait.” Rowan appeared in the doorway. “Does this mean you’re going to be walking around in a swimsuit?”

“I can if you find me one,” I teased.
