NON-IROQUOIS LITTLE PEOPLE

Native Americans were not the only groups to report sightings of Little People in this region. Aaron S. Popple told me a story of a sighting he made as a boy growing up in a small village located in Madison County.

I was about five or so. We moved with my stepdad to his country farm. Whitelaw, New York was, and still is, sparsely populated. It was December, just before Christmas of 1978. There was snow on the ground. The moon was almost full. If any of you have ever lived in the Snowbelt, you will know the type of night this was, with crisp air, clear skies, a full moon and snow on the ground. It was very bright outside on that night. I was sitting looking out the west window towards the road. There were no cars out that late in those days. I was looking for shooting stars, and it was too cold to be outside, so instead I looked out my window. Then three Little People came out of nowhere. They were running down the road when they noticed me in the window. One pointed. They waved, and they then did acrobatics in the road!!! I could see their silhouettes, pointy jester hats and shoes with the toes curled up. They were all doing somersaults, and one was juggling. They waved good-bye and took off down the road on their way!!!
