Market Capitalisation

This is the total amount of capital invested in the cryptocurrency at any given time and is usually, though not necessarily always, measured in US dollars. The higher the market capitalisation, the stronger the cryptocurrency. However, there is a trade-off regarding the potential for extremely profitable returns. The stronger the cryptocurrency market capitalisation, the more limited its upward potential tends to be.

Market Share

This is the percentage of the total cryptocurrency market devoted to the cryptocurrency. It indicates how much of the marketplace is adopting or using a particular cryptocurrency. In other words, it gives you a good indication as to how many people find the cryptocurrency useful. The higher the percentage the stronger the cryptocurrency. By way of example, Bitcoin is usually above 50%. Small projects with less than 1% of the market can still be worth investing in, but they carry a greater risk of long-term failure and loss of capital.
