Savour joy
To savour an experience means squeezing every drop of goodness out of it. It means paying attention to your feelings, noticing the curve of the smile on your lips or the twinkle of joy lighting up a child’s eyes as they tell you something they’re excited about. Notice how happiness feels in your body. Savouring a moment means immersing yourself completely and soaking it up at a visceral level. Unlike mindfulness, which is about being fully present in this moment, you can savour happy memories or even savour the anticipation of something you’re looking forward to.
