Chapter 6

∞∞∞

Tyrion walked back down the corridor towards the mess hall turned human women holding area. He had so much to do. He needed to check on the progress of the printing of comfort items for the women. He needed to figure out how to offer counselling services for the women when there was only one such trained individual on the ship, and he was there for the soldiers. He needed to figure out classes and training for various basic knowledge that they didn’t have.

The amount of work he had before him was overwhelming.

“Tyrion!” The Shek approaching him was one of the members of his team of assistants, the one who had been tackled in the showers. “I have a question.”

“What is your name?” Tyrion demanded. At least he could take care of one problem.

“Um, I’m Erthate,” Erthate said. “Some of the guys were talking - are these women all really from before the convergence?”

Tyrion froze.

If that was what was going around - everyone would believe it. Why else would the military capture and transport a large number of human women like this? This would cause a lot more problems.

Tyrion took a deep breath and scowled at the assistant.

His fingers flew over the datapad.

“You are now removed from the honored guest team,” he stated.

“WHAT?” Erthate waved his hands in the air. “For asking a question?”

“For getting in an altercation with one of the women at the cleansing unit,” Tyrion stared down the other man. “These are our honored guests. They must be treated with respect and consideration, and wrestling with one doesn’t even come close to acceptable behavior.”

Erthate’s mouth snapped shut.

“You’re also banned from the human rest area and the surrounding halls,” Tyrion continued.

Erthate didn’t reply, which was smart of him.

Tyrion had the ability to dock his pay or even confine him. Arguing would just get the other Shek into a lot more trouble.

“Dismissed,” Tyrion strode past him.

As he entered the human holding room he realized that the rumor had already gotten around, and he had yet another problem to address.

There were men everywhere.

They were hanging out and chatting with the women, sitting and eating with them, even hovering around. Some of the women looked happy, others looked upset. There were meat heads and specialist staff, pilots and even some of the upper command. The breath of authority in this room far outweighed Tyrion’s powers of oversight.

He didn’t know what to do.

This was where the human women slept and ate. They needed to be afforded privacy and consideration to that, and instead they were overwhelmed with attention, wanted and unwanted. If it was just foot soldier’s, Tyrion was pretty sure he could handle that. They were used to being ordered around.

But this was the biggest job Tyrion had ever managed. His team of five assistants was the biggest team he’d ever managed. He wasn’t use to command, and the ship at large wasn’t used to him commanding them.

This was out of his control.

“These guys are thirsty as fuck, huh?” Ciara said next to him.
