2 Methods

2.1 Models

The measured signal in a voxel S j was modeled to originate from up to two fiber compartments and an isotropic compartment:

where S 0 denotes the signal without diffusion weighing, f i and f iso are the volume fractions of the different compartments, b j stands for the strength of the diffusion gradient of the corresponding gradient direction g j , D i is the 3 × 3 diffusion tensor of each fiber compartment, and lastly D iso denotes the isotropic diffusion coefficient [21].
