Chapter Thirty-Three: Two Sides Of The Same Coin

ALOYSIUS WATCHED AS Amelia strolled down the hall in the direction of the kitchen. The stubborn Queen condemned and judged Rike all while being his mirror image in a lot of ways. Both his Alphas were stubborn. They loved each other but just could not get their shit together to trust each other enough to be happy.

They had something special Aloysius desired for himself. He longed to be mated and loved and to have a child with the female he loved. Rike and Amelia had it all but were going to ruin it at this rate. So he would help them, the stubborn fucks, see each other once and for all.

Marie broke his thoughts. “Are you going to be able to keep this big of a secret from the Dark King?”

Al turned to face the witch. “I’m not the only one keepin’ this secret from him,” he stated matter of factly.

She nodded and said, “Yes, but I don’t see him every second of every day. There’s a thousand-mile buffer for me. You would be carrying this alone and in his presence. Can you lie to his face every day?”

He broke eye contact and said, “Come, yer ride to the helipad is waitin’.”

Al led her to the front door. All non-pack members were escorted in and out of the main house, usually by enforcers, but Marie had been downgraded enough to be escorted by Al or Rike without security. Marie tapped his mouth and a fizzle of power spread across his lips.

He frowned. “What was that?”

“A small mercy ensuring the news comes from Amelia and only Amelia.”

“Thank you, Marie,” Al said, lifting the suitcase waiting by the door for her.

She simply smiled and padded out with her cash payment in hand. Al watched her as she traipsed down the stairs to the waiting car below. Feminine hands wrapped around him as the intoxicating scent of warm honey and clovers filled his senses. He smiled as warmth grew in his chest for this submissive little wolf who took him by surprise.

“Hello, Beautiful,” he said, turning to kiss Cami’s soft petal-pink lips.

“Did it work, my big bad wolf?” she asked, caressing his face.

Resting his hand on hers, he brought it to his mouth and placed a kiss in her palm. Looking into her blue eyes, he thought maybe he could have love and a family with her. He didn’t love her just yet, but he knew that one day he would. She came to mean so much to him in the short amount of time they had spent together.

He never thought a submissive wolf could be his mate. Him being a night breed demanded a dominant mate. His nature respected strength and only strength. Yes, he had noticed Cami before, but he hadn’t allowed interest in her to bloom beyond a pack mate because she cowered away from most things while serving the Alpha as a glorified butler of sorts.

Then one day, she entered his quarters in nothing but a robe and commanded he strip before her.
