CHAPTER ELEVEN

When Jericho left to go to the gym it was about 3:30a.m. The reception area at The Finley was quiet. The only noise was the sound of the water hitting the rocks on the large waterfall that sat directly in the center of the lobby.

Jericho had come back from the gym, went to his suite, and showered and laid back down for what he thought would be a quick power nap but when Jericho woke up, it was 4p.m.

“Fuck!” Jericho shouted, looking at his watch noticing the time. He’d slept practically all day. His plan was to get his truck that was housed in the underground garage to the mechanic for an oil change and to have his snow tires out on his truck.

Luckily, those were the only plans he had for the day because he wasn’t set to meet with the attorney, he wanted to hire to defend Pressha until tomorrow.

He grabbed his cell phone from the side table and checked for any missed calls. He had six missed calls from Mecca and 1 missed call from the young lady he met at the gas station a few weeks ago.

“The fuck she want?” he asked, more rhetorically than anything.

He deleted the missed call from what’s her name and touched Mecca’s name on the phone screen to dial his number.

“Man! I was knocked the fuck out! I’m went to the gym early this mornin’, laid down after I showered and the next thing, I know it’s fuckin’ four o’clock! Let me call you back on the house phone,” Jericho said.

“Aight,” Mecca said, disconnecting the call.

Jericho picked up the receiver on the house phone beside his bed and dialed Mecca right back.

“I’m back,” Jericho said, yawning.

“Damn bruh! I guess you were tired, huh?” Mecca asked.

“Hell yeah! But anyway man, what’s up?”

“Listen bruh, I think with everything that’s goin’ on, we need to get Mama Cee and Savi out of Nashville for a while,” Mecca said.

“Oh yeah?” Jericho replied, reluctantly.

“Yeah man! It’s just too much and Savi still got that damn girl here she brought when she first came home. It’s too much with all that’s happened! I want them gone!”

Jericho remained quiet for a minute, thinking about what Mecca just proposed.

“You know I ain’t really feelin’ Mama Cee right now, Mecca. She knows more than what she’s let on and I don’t appreciate the lies and all the bullshit that she’s kept from us all these years,” Jericho said.

“I know bruh. I know. It’s a lot for us all, but I don’t want them here just in case some more surprises pop up. I’m goin’ to convince her to sell the house and go to Savannah and stay at the house there.”

Jericho wasn’t interested in anything to do with Mama Cee right now. That’s
