Chapter 17

Sitting on the plush sofa in his high rise apartment, Jeffery shot another heartfelt text message to Bianca that went unanswered.

Jeffery: Bianca, I apologize for everything that took place yesterday. I am sorry for stepping out on our relationship in the worst way. I am sorry for attempting to force you to speak with me yesterday. The thought of losing you scared me to death and I behaved in a manner that was unacceptable. If you give me another chance, you have my word that these things will never happen again. If you feel like you don’t want to give us another shot I respect that, but I would appreciate it if you would sign a NDA for my own peace of mind.

Bianca’s read receipts were on and he watched until the message status changed to read at 1:15pm. The text bubbles never popped up and Jeffery angrily threw his phone across the room, stirring Casey from his sleeping position.

“What’s wrong babe?” Casey questioned, gently rubbing up and down his bare chest.

“Nothing,” Jeffery grumbled, brushing Casey off of him.

He stood to his feet and went to retrieve his phone. Anger consumed Jeffery as he snatched his phone from the floor. His fingers quickly typed another message to Bianca asking where she was. The message status never changed to delivered, informing Jeffery that she blocked him. Before he could become too upset, Instagram notified him that Bianca was live. Jeffery grabbed his AirPods and popped one into his left ear so he could listen without Casey knowing what he was doing.

The truth was, Casey had Jeffery’s heart, no matter how harsh he treated him. In a perfect world, Jeffery would have married Casey and tried to get him out of his hood ways. Unfortunately, Jeffery knew that coming out of the closet would kill his chances of living out his dreams and getting into politics. The majority of his supporters were people that he knew from his family and they were all heavy into the church. Jeffery lacked confidence that his base would continue to support him in his political aspirations if the truth came out.

Bianca was intelligent, well-spoken, and beautiful. The recipe for an amazing addition on his arm during his political career, but that was it, Jeffery didn’t feel anything for her. He attempted to cut Casey off on more than one occasion and fully commit to Bianca, but the moment they became intimate, his dick remained flaccid. Jeffery knew that it wasn’t Bianca, he knew that it was his own inner desires hindering their sex life, so he always attempted to get out of those situations with an excuse to protect her feelings.

“I need to find a beard,” Jeffery suggested.

“Huh?” Casey grumbled, fully waking up from his nap.

“That’s what we are going to do. I am going to find a woman who is about her bag and pay her to pretend to be my girl. I can have her sign a non-disclosure agreement, that way I don’t have to pretend with anybody else.
