Finding the campground: From Enumclaw, east of Tacoma, head southeast on WA 410 and drive 32 miles to the campground.

The campground: This 25-acre campground in old-growth forest is on the White River just a few miles north of Mount Rainier National Park. It is on the east side of the Sourdough Mountains, just a bit over 5 miles from the park’s northeast entrance to Sunrise. A good trail leads from camp to Crystal Mountain, a popular ski area, and to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. For a minimal fee you can make reservations by contacting the National Recreation Reservation Service at www.recreation.gov or (877) 444-6777.
