Colour adjustment/correction

Depending on the type of lighting and camera white balance, the colours may need to be adjusted for them to appear natural. This should be no more than a minor adjustment and much easier to do when shooting in RAW. In the RAW conversion, the default white balance control will be ‘As shot’ but if this requires adjustment, try ‘Auto’ or ‘Custom’ and select the appropriate lighting source or colour temperature.

Retouching

Many photographs can be improved by some retouching. This might be to remove unwanted objects, spots, blemishes or camera/lens artefacts (for example, dust spots or lens flare). Spot retouching tools can be used on smaller areas, and/or cloning, depending on what is around the unwanted object.
