Knowing What to Do After the Meeting
After you’ve had your one-to-one, follow up and quickly to thank the other person for their time.
For example, you could send them a tweet:
‘Thanks @pointandstare for coffee today; really glad to hear that another old punk is out there.’
‘Lovely to meet you @DebbieHuxton – some really inspiring advice you gave me.’
Or email them with a brief note and mention what you liked about the meeting.
If you both felt the potential for something else to happen, get on it now. Take the next step, whether that’s another meeting, a phone call or a potential referral for them. Seize the energy and the momentum that comes when something’s new and move forward before you talk yourself out of it.
