Chapter Nine

S

iren marched down the school corridor, the other students older and younger moving out of her way, not daring to stop her because she looked angry enough to attack them all. There were four older lads stood at the end of the corridor outside of the dojo, watching those sparing inside as Siren approached them, two of them were human but the other two were Opurian’s, with dark skin and dredge-locks to their waist.

“Wow…do you believe it; she’s really going at it,” the Opurian on the left said somewhat impressed.

“I can’t believe a little girl like her could take the captain.” the other Opurian said.

“She hasn’t yet,” a younger boy said stood in front of them.

“Do you mind?” Siren said behind them. “I want to go inside.”

“What, another pretty girl coming to join the club?” the Opurian asked her as he looked her up and down.

“Just move.” Siren told him as she pushed him out of her way and marched inside, to find Toria sparing with Kyo, she was wearing a small orange vest top and a short red and orange skirt. “What in the world is she wearing?”

“Not bad if you ask me.” an older boy said as he put his arm around her shoulder, he had short gelled hair and blue eyes and was wearing his gym clothes; he smiled at Siren as she looked up at him.

“Do you mind?” Siren lifted his arm away, walked onto the mats ducking out of the way as Toria almost kicked her.

“You’re in the way.” Kyo told her angrily.

“That’s the point.” Siren said as she grabbed Toria and pulled her off the mats. “We need to talk…in private.”

“I don’t feel like talking at the moment.” Toria told her as she tried to pull her arm free, but Siren wouldn’t let her go; she pulled in into the girls changing room. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I could ask you the same thing." Siren said as she quickly looked around to make sure that they were alone, before she started on the real reason that she was there. "You've been avoiding me all week; you won't talk to me in class and now look at you...what the hell are you wearing?"

"I don't like the gym clothes they have us wear." Toria answered.

"Well yeah, I agree with you on that...wait a minute we're going off subject." Siren said. "What's up with you? I know it was a big thing what happened; god, them lot in class haven't stopped talking about it all week. But it was different for you."

"I don't want to talk about it." Toria told her as she started to walk off again, but Siren stopped her.

"Well, I need to." Siren told her.

Toria looked at her somewhat confused, seemingly unaware of what she meant.

"What I did...in front of you..." Siren told her when she realized that she had no idea what she was talking about.

"What?" Toria said still unsure. "I don't care about what you did..."

"Well I do." Siren shouted at her losing her temper.
