~*~*~*~*~*~

Two hours later Shawn was upstairs in the entertainment room, idly playing a game of pool by himself when the front door opened for the third time that day. With the pretense of walking around the pool table to line up his next shot, Shawn turned to look over the loft balcony to see who had arrived. It was two men, dressed in light colored suits, which offset their darker skin and hair. They each nodded to Jae, who addressed them both in turn.

“Mr. Hammoud, Mr. Kaleel. Welcome.” Jae indicated with his hand toward the meeting room. “Shall we?”

As Jae led them to the room, now spotlessly clean, Shawn felt his heart start to beat faster, his muscles suddenly taught with tension. This was it. The meeting he’d been waiting for. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Jae, Hammoud, Kaleel, Kwan and the bodyguards all went into the meeting room and closed the door behind them. Shawn instantly set down his pool cue and went over to the vent to listen in.

What he heard over the next twenty minutes floored him. After pleasantries and small talk was exchanged the men got down to business. And the business was weapons. Lots of them. Shawn listened to what could have been two men ordering off a menu at a restaurant, choosing how many AK-47 and Kalashnikov assault rifles, semi-automatic handguns and magazines of ammunition, plus hand grenades and blocks of C4 explosives. All standard terrorist weapons.

But it was the next “order” that chilled Shawn to the bone – rocket-propelled grenade launchers, claymore mines, mortars and surface-to-air missiles.

Shawn sat back, stunned. This was so much bigger than Shadow Unit thought. Jae was definitely running with the big boys now, getting into arms dealing of this magnitude. Shawn knew, now more than ever, that this maniac had to be stopped before more innocent people were killed.

Shawn leaned over again, listening intently for the name of Jae’s supplier, and where and when Hammoud and Kaleel would be taking delivery of the weapons. But maddeningly, none of that was discussed. The meeting ended with Jae promising to contact Hammoud tomorrow with the delivery details. Frustrated, Shawn stood and went back over to the pool table, all smiles when Jae joined him a short time later.

Without a word Jae stepped up close to Shawn, threaded his fingers through Shawn’s dark hair, pulling slightly, and kissed him hard and deep, his other hand cupping Shawn’s ass, squeezing. When he finally moved back Shawn noticed his expression looked exactly like when he was high.

“I take it your meeting went well?” Shawn asked.

Jae brushed his thumb over Shawn’s lower lip. “Indeed,” Jae answered. “Better than I’d hoped, actually.” He squeezed Shawn’s ass again. “Go get dressed. Time to celebrate. Dinner and then the club.” He turned and walked away, calling over his shoulder with a wide smile. “Hope you like champagne because I’ll be licking it off your body tonight.” He laughed and winked and Shawn’s skin crawled even as he grinned in return.
