Using the above template on all defenses and Pragmatic first measures should set you on the path to good counterpunching ability. But we all know combinations are where it’s at, so we can continue the above template by adding smart combination work to your Pragmatic first measure.

To do this we’ve provided Combination menus after the Pragmatic first measures section. Once you’ve worked your defense for 3 rounds and then your Pragmatic first measure for 3 rounds, go to the Combination menu section and select a combination that begins with your Pragmatic first measure and ladder the combination from there.

The following example builds on our jab catch v high jab + return jab.
