Continue to move attention down the face, over the fluttery eyelids, the temples, the back of the head. Be sure to include the ears in your scan, even though you may have only a faint sense of their presence.

Move attention down over the lips and jaws, inside the mouth and down the back of the head and into the neck and throat area. Feel the sensations as you scan—solid, tingling, warmth, tension—whatever appears.

Continuing your scan, move your attention down into the shoulders and upper body. As you move through the upper torso, the chest and back, see if you can feel your insides as well as your outsides. Do you feel the solidity of the rib cage? Perhaps your insides feel like an undefined watery mass. Can you feel any movement or activity going on in there? Twitches or flowing movements. Perhaps burbling and gurgling. Just explore the torso in order to experience whatever sensations are present.
