The Dot Loop drop-down has two other tools: Dot Loop Opposite and Dot Loop Cylinder.
The function of these tools is similar to the function of the Dot Loop tool.
Ring
The Ring tool is used to select the sub-objects of the selected object in the form of ring. To do so, select the Polygon sub-object level of the selected object and select two adjacent polygons of the object, as shown in Figure 9-33. Next, choose the Ring tool from the Modify Selection panel; the selection will be made in the form of a ring, as shown in Figure 9-34.
