Without going over every possible arena of employment, suffice it to say that each field will have its own rules. Even IT fields, wherein we think of people sitting in a basement somewhere…even these fields have their level of required socializing. As Jane Meyerding wrote in her essay “Coming Out Autistic at Work,” from the book Coming Out Asperger: Diagnosis, Disclosure, and Self-Confidence:
