Trying to prepare for this wedding without letting Tahari knowing was going to be hard. I needed all hands on deck. It didn’t help that Peaches was out of the country on an extended vacation. I was glad that she would at least be back by the time we had the wedding. It would be on Christmas Eve at High Point Castle. Just thinking of my mother and the way she is moving is starting to bother me. After talking to Ta’Jay, I hit Quanie up, and he let me in on everything that was going on. She was trying her best to avoid certain conversations, and I wasn’t buying it. After a long talk with her, she agreed to come back home over the weekend. The last thing we need was custody issues. It’s obvious she’s going through some personal things that make her want space, and that’s cool. Nothing is wrong with that. I do, however, feel like something is going on, and she’s not telling me. “Don’t start that complaining. I needed all y’all here because I have to tell you something important.”

“Well, that’s what happens when you get pregnant!” If she thought I was about to pacify that shit, she had me mistaken. I’m still tying to wrap my mind around the fact she be fucking. That’s a father’s worse fear, but we all know it comes with the territory.

“Where’s ma at? KJ asked.

“I sent her on a shopping spree so that she wouldn’t be here when you all came over here.”

“Okay. What’s going on, daddy?” Ka’Jairea spoke up with widened eyes. It was obvious that she was eager to know what the hell was going on.

“I called you all here because I’m going to ask your mother to marry me again. During our first wedding, we ran into some complications.”

“Complications? More like a catastrophe?” Yah-Yah said.

“Momma was kidnapped by her mother and father right, pops?” Kash asked.

“Momma was kidnapped?” Kahari asked in a surprised voice. I never thought this conversation would lead to me explaining that day, but all the kids need to know in order to understand how far we’ve come.

“Yes, your mother was kidnapped by her parents because we were in a war with them. Back when your mother and I got together no one wanted us together.
