Coming out of the bathroom after cleaning myself up, I tossed the paper towel in the trashcan and turned to say something to Angela, when I heard my name.

“Auntie Gee!”

I turned around, and Kim’s oldest came barreling toward me full speed. She wrapped her arms around my waist, and I froze.

“Kennedy, you know better than to run—” Kim started to say but stopped when she saw me.

Tears started to run down my face, and Kennedy looked up at me.

“Auntie Gee, what’s wrong?”

I stooped down and wiped my tears.

“It’s nothing, baby. How are you doing?”

“I’m fine. My mommy and daddy brought me shopping for our trip to Disney World,” she said, making me freeze up.

“Okay, Kennedy. Let’s leave Auntie Gee alone,” Kim said, pulling her away from me.

I stood up and shook my head, and Aiden walked around the corner.

“Oh shit,” I heard Angela mumble.

“Gayla.”

I started backing up when I bumped into somebody. I went to turn around, but the person put their arms around my waist.

“Is there a problem?” His voice resonated from behind me, making me shiver.

“What the fuck is this?”

“Daddy, language,” Kennedy said, putting her little hands on her hips.

That’s when I saw it. I didn’t see it before, but I saw it now. She looked just like Aiden. How the hell did I miss that?

“Kim, take Kennedy—”

“Oh, hell no. I’m trying to figure out how the hell the motherfuckers we paid is here with this bitch?” Kim spat.

“Mommy!” Kennedy said.

“You didn’t pay shit, Kim. Damn, shut up.”

I looked up at Colby.

“How much?”

“How much what?” he asked, looking down at me.

“How much did he pay you?”

“The job was for two million; they put a deposit of one million.”

I felt my chest getting tight, and it was like I blanked the fuck out. When I came to, Colby was pulling me off of Kim.

“I’m good. Let me go, Colby!”

“Not until you calm down.”

“I’m calm. Let me go.”

He backed me against the wall and kissed me. Shit, if I wasn’t good then, I damn sure was good now.

“You good now?”

I smiled at him and nodded.

“I hate you.”

“Nah, you don’t,” he said.

I rolled my eyes, and he let me pass. I walked up to Aiden who was comforting Kennedy. I didn’t mean for her to see that, but she needed to know who her slimy ass parents were.

“Kennedy, I’m sorry, baby. You shouldn’t have witnessed that.”

“Gayla, not now,” Aiden said, making me arch my brow at him.

“You’re right. Not now, not never. You fucked with the wrong one. Best believe that my father will be paying both of your asses a visit. So make sure you have your ducks in a row. I’ll let you take your little family on vacation, but I promise you, as much as I hurt, you’re going to hurt worse.”

“Gayla, I didn’t mean—”

I bumped past his ass, ignoring what he had to say.

“Fuck!” I heard from behind me, but I didn’t bother turning my head.

We went ahead and proceeded to shop. Aiden and Kim had definitely fucked with the wrong one.
