ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTOR

Judith B. O’Loughlin, an independent education consultant certified in TESOL and special education, advocates for standards-based differentiated instruction focused on the teaching of academic language and content. She works closely with K–12 teachers, providing professional development in short- and long-term workshops, as well as preservice graduate-level courses leading toward TESOL endorsement and/or advanced degree programs. She is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences, including CATESOL, NJTESOL-NJBE, TESOL, NABE, ASCD, NASDME, and IRA. She is the author of the Academic Language Accelerator (Oxford University Press, 2010) and articles in various newsletters and journals, including TESOL Connections, NABE News, and JALT.
