Carlos ignored the call from the unknown number for the fifth time in the last hour. His gut was telling him that it was Brielle, and he wasn’t in the mood for her bullshit. The only female that could possibly say they were pregnant by him was Raq. And even then, he made sure she ate Plan B’s if he couldn’t pull out fast enough. No woman outside of her had the pleasure of saying they knew what his bare dick felt like. He planned to keep it that way.

“Wassup, lil’ nigga?” Big Al greeted Carlos when he walked inside of his barbershop. It was early so the shop was empty.

Los dapped him up before taking a seat in Al’s chair. “Nothing much. I do need to holla at you about something though.”

“How the fuck you gon’ say nothing much but you need to talk to me about something? That’s an oxymoron,” he shook the cape out before snapping it around Carlos’s neck.

“Man, why you always got to give me a hard time?” Carlos chuckled and shook his head.

“Because I can. Wassup though? What’s on your mind?”

Carlos drew in a deep breath then released it. “Aight, so I want to bring a lil’ shorty to your party, but I know how my pops is. You think it’s a bad idea?”

“A lil’ shorty? Not the one that you was forehead kissing?”

“Yeah man, that one,” he chuckled again.

“Oh, so now you want to bring her around family? This is more than just you fuckin’ her, ain’t it?” he asked, cleaning off his clippers.

“Nah,” he lied through his teeth. Big Al sucked his teeth and made a face, causing Los to laugh. “Aight man, damn. I like her, aight? She’s a good girl, and we have fun together.”

“Ah, now we get to the bottom of it. You like her but you worried that L is going to throw salt in your game,” he shrugged and got started on lining him up. “I can see how that can be a problem. At the end of the day, you a grown ass man with ya own damn dick that ya daddy don’t need to be worried about. If you like her then bring her. I’ll talk to L, if that’s what you need me to do but it may be better if you talk to him first.”

“We going to get breakfast after I leave here. Bad news is always easier on him when he has a plate of food in front of him.”

Big Al laughed. “That nigga feel better about anything when he got some food in front of him. If he thinks his son liking a girl is bad news, then we have bigger problems. You could be telling him you like a nigga.”

“Go ‘head man!” Los cracked up at his Godfather. “You always got damn jokes.”

“I’m being serious, Junior! Shit, everybody fuckin’ gay these days, so if you feeling her then I’m glad for it. Yo’ big-headed ass daddy should be too. If he ain’t, to hell with ‘em.
