CHAPTER TEN

DANIYA

“I can’t believe this nigga waltz his ugly ass up in here. Ugh, who the fuck am I kidding! He still is as fine as he was ten damn years ago. Let it go, Daniya! You’re mad at him. He left you, not the other way around. He doesn’t deserve your time.” I was pacing back and forth in my office, talking to my damn self. Realizing what was happening, I stopped and started laughing.

“Lord, I’m going crazy.” Slapping my head, I walked over to my desk and took a seat. After that kiss that he gave me, I really wanted to jump all over Semaj, but my heart was still broken from the pain that he’d caused me. I really wanted to hear his side of the story but couldn’t get over his bullshit.

I heard my cell phone ring, I looked over at it. Seeing it was Khanya, I quickly answered.

“Hey boo! What you got for me?” I asked her.

She laughed. “Dang girl! Were you waiting on this call?”

“Was! You know I don’t usually wait this long to get my house decorated. Plus, your lil boo thang, Kyra, is irritating the fuck out of me. If she asks me one more time when Miss Khanya is coming to decorate, I’m sending her to yo ass.”

“Aww, don’t do my baby boo like that. She’s excited about Christmas and her birthday! Plus, you know that I don’t mind her hanging with me.”

“Girl, you can have her little tail! Nah, but seriously, I love my daughter and am willing to give her the world.”

“I know you do, and I admire the fact that you do right by her. She’s a peach. So what theme are we going with this year?”

I noticed how she switched the subject but decided that I wouldn’t pry, at least not today. “Yeah, she decided that she wanted a Winter Wonderland theme.”

“Ohh, great! Okay, let me get started on the planning, and I’ll get right on it. Talk to you later.”

“Later.”

I sat back in my chair. My eyes darted over to the picture of Kyra sitting on my desk.

“I wonder if Dakari had seen this picture. No, he couldn’t have. If he did, then he would’ve seen his own eyes looking right back at him. He definitely would’ve known off top that this was his seed. It’s a damn shame how much my baby looks like him,” I said, shaking my head and placing the picture back down.

Hearing my phone ping, I looked at it to see that it was a text from Dakari. “How the fuck did this nigga get my number?” I opened it up and instantly smiled.

Dakari: Know that I’m proud of the woman that you have become and all of the accomplishments. Can’t wait to get another taste of you from the other set of lips when I catch up to you again, real soon, baby.

I clenched my legs closed tightly. The kiss that he gave me was just a reminder of what that mouth and dick did back then.
