As soon as I closed the front door behind me, I finally let out the deep breath I was holding in for dear life. I didn’t know why I felt so uneasy around Savage; he was only just another nigga. Well, not just another, he was the most elite ride; plus, he was rough and deliciously handsome. But knowing he didn’t look at me in that way, I just tried to push him out of my mind.

“You okay baby girl?” my dad asked, peeking into the hallway.

That’s when I noticed I was still standing against the door, getting my breathing under control. “Hm, yeah daddy, I’m good,” I quickly replied, then made my way upstairs to my floor.

When I got into my suite, the first thing I heard was Bliss on the phone, pleading and crying to that clown. It was like she knew he was going to call around this time; that’s why she was so eager to come home. Nigga got her on schedule like clockwork.

I bypassed her room to see her standing in the middle of the floor looking distressed. When I was about to open my door, I heard a knock on my suite door. “Who is it?” I yelled.

“It’s me, Lure,” I heard my mother say.

“Come in Ma, it’s open.”

She entered, looking worried. “Are you okay? Your dad said you came in looking crazy and all.” She curled her lips.

We both knew how extra my father could be sometimes when it came to me, so I could only imagine how and what he told her.

“I’m good ma,” I laughed. “My ass just gotta workout and get back in shape, that’s all,” I lied.

“Nigga, I’m ‘bout tired of ya shit! You always accusing me of doing something when I’m not, if only you knew how solid I am!” Bliss hollered.

Both my mother and I looked in the direction of her room. Seconds later, she walked out of it and froze in her path once she saw the two of us standing there.

“Oh, hi God mommy, I’m sorry if yo—”

My mother raised her hand and said, “It’s fine baby, I know how it can be, no need to explain.”

“You worried about the wrong person,” I mumbled towards my mother but looked at Bliss before I walked off into my room.

Stripping out of my clothes, I prepared myself to get in the shower to wash all the dust, smoke and the smell of two and four stroke oil off my body. All I wanted to do after I got out was to sleep, and that’s just what I did.
