My feet were so swollen, and I was in excruciating pain. My back was on fire, and my legs were so weak. I worked a ten hour shift today for some much-needed cash. This baby was putting me through hell, and I promised myself never to get pregnant again. I paid to get on the bus, and all the seats were taken. Not a single person stood up to offer me their seat. I grew tired of waiting on Draymond to pick me up. Things between us hadn’t gotten any better, and we hardly ever spoke to each other. He acted like I didn't exist, and whenever I would get home, he would pick up his car keys and leave. His time away from me did my mind and body good. I could hear myself think, I could watch TV in peace, and I didn't have to cook every day. Sooner or later, we would have to talk, because I didn’t want this baby or him, and he needed to know that. He was all smiles when he found out I was pregnant, he even took me to my doctors’ appointments, but now I was catching the bus and going alone.

Mrs. Claudine agreed to take my son for only a short period of time, or until I got my life together. She didn't want me giving up on my baby, because she wasn't going to give up on me. Mrs. Claudine was the mother I never had, and if it wasn't for her, this baby would be dropped off at the fire station. I kept praying God would put something inside my heart that would allow me to love him, but every time I look at his daddy, I hate him even more. The bus dropped me off a block from my apartment, so I had to walk the rest of the way. This neighborhood wasn't much better than Oak Cliff. Niggas hung out shooting dice, selling drugs and drinking. I noticed I was being followed by a man I had seen around here. I played cool and walked inside the store. He didn't come inside the store, and my nerves calmed down once I saw him crossing the street. I bought a bottle of water and a Snickers candy bar I would eat later on when Basketball Wives came on. My fat ass always had to have a snack when my TV shows were on.

On my way out, I bumped into Tweety. The last time I saw her was at Precious’ funeral, and she was carrying on like her and Precious were best friends. My sister never fucked with her, and neither did I.

"Bitch, aren't you going to say excuse me?" She looked at me like I was scum.

Tweety looked good as shit. I could tell by her booty she went under the knife because she never had a round and curvy ass. She either had a job, or a nigga with money, because she was done up and rocking some fresh Gucci sneakers.
