As soon as I was discharged from the hospital, I had Jeenah take me back to my car. It was in the wee hours of the morning. Transportation was going to be needed to do the things I had to do in order to get my man back, so I had to get back to my car expeditiously. Truth wanted to ass around and act like he didn’t know anything about Prophet’s disappearance. That showed how much of a phony he was. The fact that he would waste his time trying to lead me to believe that Prophet left me was unreal. I didn’t deserve that. Nobody deserved anything like that.

What got me about all of this was Truth constantly claiming Prophet as his brother but showing that he had not one loyal bone in his body. None of the things that had been happening lately made sense and Truth was not trying to put any of it into perspective for me. Prophet was going to come home to me, I didn’t care how much it cost.

“Are you ready to tell me what I want to know?” I asked Truth.

Jeenah didn’t want him getting in her car. It took me forcing him to give her the keys back before we left the hospital for her to even agree to take me to my car. The only reason she allowed Truth to ride with us was because she knew he was the only person that knew anything about what was going on with Prophet and she said I needed someone to be with me in case I passed out again. She was a little upset with me leaving the hospital against medical advice, but she understood my reason for doing it.

“Listen, when I heard you were pregnant, I didn’t want to tell you what happened with Prophet. Not until I was able to get him back. The nigga said he wanted ten million dollars to get him back. That’s why I told you I knew somebody who could find him, but they would charge a pretty penny.”

“Soooo… You really thought that telling me that the man I loved left me was less drastic than telling me that he was kidnapped? What planet are you living on?”

“The planet where I’m my brother and sister’s keeper. Anything I could’ve said to lessen the blow, I was willing to say. If you don’t see that, then I don’t know what to tell you. I was only looking out for you and my niece or nephew.”

Truth was lying through his teeth but there was nothing I could do about it. He was the only person who had any information on Prophet’s whereabouts and what the kidnappers wanted. If they reached out to him and not me, they were expecting to receive payment from him and only him. That meant I was going to have to risk giving him my money and pray he did the right thing for Prophet to make it back home to me.
