Joc had been so busy the last two weeks with making sure he spent as much time with his family as possible. He and Slim also had been working on revamping Lounge 623. He knew for sure no nigga would be getting in there with a pistol.
Joc and Slim received a report back from their IT guy. The only good visual they got was the red Charger fleeing the scene after the shooting. The brothers had all their hitters in the city on the lookout for that vehicle. They even gave the tag number to the police offers on their payroll to keep an eye out.
Joc wanted blood from whoever put Morgan in the hospital. He didnât give a damn about the damage done to the club because that was an easy fix. He just hoped Morgan would get better and be out of the hospital soon. Joc hadnât missed a day of sending Morgan flowers and calling her mom to check on her. He really wanted to go see her, but he didnât want to run into her bitch ass boyfriend.
Joc wasnât no hating ass nigga so he minded his business, but he still couldnât believe Morgan was with such a lame ass nigga. In Jocâs eyes, Morgan was way too classy for a disrespectful nigga like Trey. He didnât like no man that put his hands on a woman.
Joc finished counting the money that was laying on his desk and put it in his safe once he was done. He picked up his phone to call his dad when he noticed a call from Morganâs mom, Niecey. Joc put his passcode in and called her back to make sure everything was okay.
âHey, Joc. How are you?â Mrs. Niecey asked Joc in a low tone.
âIâm good. Whatâs going on? Is everything okay?â
âWell, Morgan still hasnât woken up yet and not much has changed. She is still breathing on her own.â
âThatâs a good thing, right?â
âYeah, but baby, Morgan is going to lose her salon. I donât have access to her bank account and the teller wouldnât let me get any money out. I didnât want to ask Jamie because she has been helping me pay all of Morganâs other bills and I damn sure didnât want to ask that no good ass Trey. Do you think you could help her out until sheâs able to pay you back?â
âNo, problem, Ms. Niecey, just text me what you need, and Iâll get it taken care of for you and itâs no need to have Morgan pay me back. Itâs the least I can do since the incident happened at my lounge.â Joc reassured her.
âThank you so much, Joc. Iâm a prideful woman and I donât typically do anything like this, but Morgan worked so hard to make Dream Studio 13 everything she ever wanted, and I just donât want her to lose it.â
âItâs okay. I made you a promise the first night we met that I will forever make sure you and your daughter are okay and one thing about me, Iâm a man of my word.
