Chapter Seven

Tommy

As soon as my baby was released from jail this morning the two of us came to The Torrez Law Firm. As long as I’ve been in the game the Torrez family has always been my family’s attorney. Every Torrez is a part of the mob. Their entire law firm is ran strictly by drugs and money. A lot of people wondered why I did the things that I did in the streets and always got off and these lawyers are the reason why. There’s absolutely no way my baby would be free without these men help and I’m grateful. Christopher Torrez is the oldest and he’s usually the one that I work with when shit hits the fan the most. Columbus Torrez is the youngest of them all and he’s a little new in the office but smart. Before their father passed away three years ago he was the only one that I did business with. Christopher has always been his partner but their father had the power. Dealing with the mob has never been easy but when you’re in the game how me and my family are in the game you have no choice but to deal with dirty motherfuckers just so that your face can stay clean. I’ve never minded spending money with them, ever. I’d do anything and spend anything just to keep my family out of the law’s face.

Gianni’s been bitching about getting home to the kids as if we don’t have shit to handle. I hate how green my child is but this is really all me her and her father’s fault. Mainly mines to be honest. I’ve sheltered her and I’m starting to regret it. Gianni’s the greenest person in our entire family and sometimes it gets a bit frustrating. She don’t have a thing to worry about but I also need her to know that she’s responsible for this shit and she at least need to have her eyes open right now. We’ve got to be focused and find out how the fuck these cracka’s have evidence on her. I haven’t spoken with my brothers yet and my mind will be so fucked up if these lawyers tell me that they’re ratting on my baby. I don’t think my heart will be able to take the betrayal.

“Tommy, Gianni,” Christopher walks into his office and shakes both of our hands.

Columbus comes in a few seconds later and does the same thing. The two of them are dressed down in white suits that I’m sure cost over five grand. They’re handsome Cubans and they’re easy to get along with when shit is going smooth but I can tell that they’re annoyed and don’t have good news.

“What news do y’all have for me?” I ask them.

“Well Tommy, we have to be real with you, mama… We got some bad news.”

I sigh and drop my head, “Go ahead and lay it on me.”

Christopher pulls a few papers out of a folder and slide two of the same copies to me and Gianni.
