Chapter Nine

Kimberly

I’m trying so hard to sit at this dinner table and have dinner with this fucked up ass family. My sister has been missing for over three weeks and they’re actually sitting here laughing, smiling, and enjoying life like nothing is wrong. I’m playing over the nasty ass broccoli that my mother cooked. The smothered meatballs looks and smells delicious but I don’t have an appetite. My mind is so set on getting revenge and they’re discussing a football game that they’ll be attending next week. I toss my fork on my plate and push my chair back.

“Kimberly sit down!” My mother orders.

“I can’t, I can’t fucking do this shit! My—”

“Hey! You will watch your mouth young lady!” my father yells.

“No, fuck this! Veronica is probably somewhere dead and y’all are sitting here like it doesn’t bother y’all. Have y’all been listening at anything I’ve been saying? Veronica told me if she came up missing it was because Kreed came after her. He probably killed her and y’all are sitting here not worried. What kind of parents are y’all?”

A few weeks ago Veronica came to me crying about Jamaris being missing. She told me Jamaris had been raping April and I didn’t agree with any of it. She had so many excuses as to why she didn’t do anything about it and that’s when I started to fault my mother. When Veronica was raped by our neighbors when she was a little girl my parents did nothing about it and it basically drove my sister crazy. I didn’t find that as an excuse to allow Jamaris nasty ass to touch my niece but I still felt so bad for my sister. She indeed came to me in confidence with the information but I had to do something about it. I gave all of the information about Jamaris to some of my FBI buddies and they hopped on it with the quickness. Knight and their father are some untouchable son of a bitches and everyone in the station would love to take the entire family down. When I told my sister that I had some people working on the case she flipped out. She never wanted the law to get involved because she knew that they would kill her. I hate Kreed and his entire family because they are heartless. They kill innocent people every day and sleep well at night and this has to come to an end.

My sister made it perfectly clear if she ever came up missing to know that Kreed had everything to do with it. The day after my sister told me that, we got a call saying that her house had burned down. The call made me sick but I had a little hope when I learned that her body wasn’t in the house. She can still be out there somewhere and I need to find out. We as an empowered family can find out together but of course these motherfuckers are selfish and scary.
