“Aye, fuck off me,” I told Chenell. She’d lost her fuckin’ mind.

“Huh? What you mean? You aren’t glad to see me?” she queried in a sad tone.

“Glad to see you? I had to play dead to get away from your ass. Why would I be glad to see you?”

It wasn’t that I was trying to be mean, but I had grown. There was no time for me to play games.

“How do you know her, San?” KoKo asked me. I pushed Chenell out the way and marched toward KoKo’s bed.

“I used to mess around with her back in the day. She wanted things to be serious, but I wasn’t ready for all that. Then I found out she was trying to get pregnant by me. That was something I damn sure wasn’t about to let happen. I tried to break up with her, but she acted like she couldn’t get the hint. So I ac—”

“So he made it seem like he was in a bad car accident. He had a funeral and every-damn-thing. Who would go to that extreme to get someone to stay away from them?” Chenell hollered. By that time, tears were streaming down her face. I hated to see how hurt she was, but I had no choice. She wouldn’t go away. She was popping up everywhere, and that was bad for business. She had people lookin’ at me crazy. That wasn’t going to work. The saying goes “desperate times called for desperate measures”.

“I’m confused. Why the hell would you run from her when you had money to make shit happen to her?” Kita chimed in and asked.

“Kita, I was fuckin’ with Chenell when I first got into this dope game. That was a long ass time ago, and I started at the bottom of the barrel. We wasn’t making any real money then.”

“Oh Okay. So this ain’t nothing that was recent?” Kita followed up.

“Naw. That was a super long time ago.”

“Then why she holding on to you and hugging and kissing on you like the shit new?” Kita was firing off questions to me like I was fuckin’ her. KoKo was the only person who had any real right to say anything to me about Chenell’s crazy ass. Major needed to check Kita’s ass before I got to her. If I was the one who had to say something, they were not going to like what I had to say.

“Calm down, Kita. It makes sense,” KoKo spoke in my defense. “I know you’re questioning him because you have my back, but he’s doing the right thing by getting her off him and letting her know that he not with that shit she thought they had.”

“Thank you, baby,” I stated to KoKo. “I can assure you that there is nothing goin’ on with me and this crazy broad.”

“I believe you. What I don’t understand is why she was in here taking pictures of me when I’d dozed off?” I watched KoKo as she continued to stare at Chenell.
